Marketing dashboards your management actually reads

Reporting is not a goal. It is the shortest route from data to a decision.

Most marketing reports get made, sent and never opened. Not because the numbers are wrong, but because nobody can make a decision with them. Forty charts without an answer to the only question that matters: what works, what does not, and what do we do differently next month?

I build dashboards and reports for mid-sized companies that do answer that. No extra tool with a subscription, but a setup your own team understands and can maintain.

Marketing reporting: from data graveyard to decision

Good marketing reporting does not start with the data, but with the question. Who reads this, and what should that person be able to do with it? A business owner needs five numbers. A marketing team needs more, but different ones. Once that is clear, three quarters of the current reporting turns out to be redundant.

Reporting marketing results to your management

A management team does not want to see CTR or impressions. It wants to know what marketing cost, what it brought in and where the next budget should go. That requires numbers that match the books, not what the ad platform claims. That is exactly where most reports break down.

So I tie marketing data to actual revenue and margin. The result is a monthly report a non-marketer understands in five minutes, with the details behind it for anyone who wants to dig deeper.

Measuring marketing results: get the basics right first

A dashboard on top of wrong data is worse than no dashboard. Before I build anything, I check the measurement setup: GA4, conversion tagging, consent and the link with your backend. Only when the numbers are right does automating make sense.

  • Audit of your current measurement and reporting: what is right, what is missing, what is duplicated.
  • A dashboard with the numbers you actually steer on, tied to revenue.
  • Automated delivery, so nobody has to copy numbers by hand anymore.
  • Handover to your team, so you do not stay dependent on me.

See for yourself what that looks like

I can spend a long time explaining what such a dashboard looks like. You can also just click through one. The demo dashboard is online, filled with fictional data.
